Anitta Milloro (she/They)

Founder & Board Member, Lesbians of Iowa

Anitta Milloro is a queer chaplain educator and community leader who founded Lesbians of Iowa in February 2017 to create a vibrant, affirming, and justice-rooted space for lesbian and queer folks across the state. Drawing from their work as a chaplain, Anitta brings a deep commitment to spiritual care, healing, and authentic connection—values that shape their vision of LOIA as a beloved community where every person is seen, celebrated, and supported.

For Anitta, community is sacred. Whether accompanying people in moments of grief and growth or cultivating joyful spaces of queer belonging, they remain grounded in a belief that transformation happens when we show up for one another with courage, curiosity, and care. As a longtime leader in LOIA, Anitta continues to nurture spaces where all are welcomed with dignity and love.

Abbie

Abbie Williams-Theobold

“I’m Abbie. I came out in early 2020 and found community with LOIA during a very isolating time for most people. I have met such amazing individuals and formed my found family. I grew up in Iowa City and currently reside in Cedar Rapids with my wife, our three children and beloved pets. In addition to being part of the leadership team with LOIA, I am also Sister Jewel B. Sorry with the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence.”

Tracie

Tracie Lindholm

“Hi, I’m Tracie—a late-in-life lesbian who found her people in Lesbians of Iowa in May 2022. This group gave me the freedom to be myself, and now I’m honored to help lead and give back to the community that embraced me. I’m a lover of all things nature, known for giving the best mom hugs, and probably the biggest kid at heart you’ll ever meet. I’m here to help this space stay safe, supportive, and full of love—just like it was for me.”
